It's the poorest large MSA among the big cities in NE Corridor (Baltimore MSA includes places like Howard County MD, and New Haven MSA is technically poorer) although Philadelphia County is also below Baltimore City (but is above Bronx County NY).
Well, since the Resonance survey took the core cities of metros with 1m+ inhabitants and broke out their stats, that pushed the city of Philadelphia downward on their Prosperity scale.

But yeah, it's also the least affluent of the Big Five Northeast MSAs. I was surprised to learn that.

Is that earning higher adjusted for higher costs of living?

Is the lower unemployment due to the higher cost of living?

The life expectancy in Harris and Travis counties are 80 and 82 respectively, with Harris having more of a spread. The lowest zip code is lower than Austin's but the highest for Harris is 89 while the highest for Travis is 87. The counties are built very differently and that may account for the difference. All in all this isn't necessarily an apples to apples comparison.

Health Stats I will take your word on. Although it may be that Austin has the youngest boom of the major Texas cities. Give it a couple years and Austin will be just as fast as the rest of Texas.

All things considered I don't think it's as clear cut as you make it seem.

Then you have LV Strip which is not inside the City of Las Vegas either...
Except Venice is a neighborhood of the city of LA and inside city limits.

I stand corrected. Forgot about that as I keep thinking about cities like Manhattan Beach or Redondo Beach.

our perceptions vs conventional, pitiful dogma.

summer anyways,
NYC

Chicago/SF
LA is ok!!

Seattle/Boston/ purgatory.
DC is very nice.
Miami see ya in the winter you sure are fun.
San Diego
Broward Co

US sprawl cities are places people work and have kids.
Atlanta is probably the nicest of super-suburban's.

Winter;
Miami, LA, SF, Honolulu,
Broward: zone from Ft Lauderdale to Delray Beach is great.
Sun Diego: epic winter surf from Baja Malibu to Blacks and the weather.

NYC,
DC
Atlanta
Seattle/Portland
Boston (is marginally survivable) what's good? it's Boston.

best possible winter lived by humans Los Angeles, San Diego,
or Oahu (of course)

I'm not at all sure what's "conventional" or "dogmatic" about the Resonance survey, though I might be willing to accept the word "pitiful" to describe it; but I'd prefer "strange."

At least it looks like you based your rankings on actual visits to each place.

And I guess you've never been to Philadelphia or Baltimore.

Me, I prefer to spend the winter in places that actually have one.

Took my pup to Central Park yesterday. Went kind of early before the 90 degree temps took hold. The nature, waterfalls, secret nooks and crannies abound as well as the amazing upkeep, architecture and multitude of wondrous dogs in all their glory. The peaceful, natural energy was buzzing through the park. To say it was spectacular wouldn't be doing it justice. It's a "Must See" for anyone visiting NYC.
