Of course, with every ranking, there are always challenges, biases, different methodologies and so on. In this case, it focuses on the most expensive cities for international employees.

I guess you can make some argument for government transfers but Boston being below DC is like just wrong?

I just cant see how anywhere in North America is more expensive than Honolulu. Go to a supermarket there and see for yourself.

Outside of housing everything in DC and that metro is more expensive than in Boston. Anecdotally speaking of course.

Honestly I wonder if this includes things like healthcare costs? But that’s super variable. That’s the only way I could even possibly see St. Louis or something being more expensive to live in compared to Vancouver but I find that highly unlikely even when including things subsidized by the government.

Yeah I can't imagine this being the case, especially when factoring in housing alone. Other factors I could see equaling out a bit.
