I hope the thread title is self-explanatory!

Before anyone points it out: I know that Miami is very unique for an American city with it being so international and such a hub for Caribbean/Latin culture. I ask that you still try to make the comparison even if you have to grasp at straws. I’ll list some pros for each metro below that I’ve thought of.

Boston: Strong Caribbean demographic, small-area anchor, lots of Northeastern expats/retirees in FL, coastal.

Dallas: Dominant Spanish-speaking demographic, new-ness, a conservative state, southern.

Of the two Dallas, however, I would still say Dallas/Fort Worth compared to Miami/Ft. Lauderdale are very different, it' s just they are more similar to than Boston/Providence, but again, comparing Miami metro to Dallas is stretching it.

Oof. Maybe I misunderstood how close this one was. I’ll throw a desperate plea that you won’t find anything like this in Dallas:

Definitely Dallas out of the two, but in Texas, Houston would be a closer match to South Florida than Dallas.

I dont thinks its as of a washout as the poll will make it.

However, MIA and DAL areas are much closer than BOS is to DAL.

Neither. I’d have to go with LA.

I don’t really see a comparison either….perhaps Broward (FtL) and Palm Beach county portions of the overall Miami MSA are more closer to Dallas, but that might be it.

DFW only because they are both sunbelt metros with a newer/modern look, but that's about it.
