Interesting. A lot of those locations I would not have guessed.

It seems like metro NYC is still dominated by a lot of small to mid-sized dealerships, despite the metro's wealth. I'd imagine that's what. Thus only an outer suburban dealership in central Jersey makes the Top 50. I'm very surprised a dealership in a podunk town topped things off and not say in SoCal (it's not part of the Boise metro and far enough east of Spokane/Coeur d'Alene to have its own independent market.

I think this list speaks much more to the owner/management successful style of business development and sales, rather than city location.

With #1 landing in a smallish town in Idaho, I think that is the story this list tells.

Doesn't surprise me to see Koons on that list twice. Koons dominates the D.C. car market pretty much.

Look at Dave Smith Motors in Idaho. They have all the large brands. Dodge-Jeep-Chrysler. GMC-Chevy-Buick. Ford. Toyota. They own 100% of the full size pickup truck market and a big slice of the SUV/Crossover market. If they’re the low price dealership, they probably have people coming in from Spokane.

Just clicked to see where Herb Chambers landed. If Chambers is only 33rd, damn some of those other groups must be huge.

Napoleton doesn't surprise me to see on this list(and one of them is #3!), considering they always owned a lot of dealerships in the Chicago area. And I never realized(when I looked up the full top 500 list) that Fletcher Jones had dealerships, outside the Chicago area.
