Interesting figures. Although it would be interesting to see the metro numbers, as I am quite sure both Miami and NYC would score considerably higher.

Every US city would be much higher if they actually did this by MSA.

I wonder if the growth of Greenwich is at New York City's expense?

Greenwich has always been elite. Nothing new here and has little to no bearing on NYC. They're both heavyweights.

That makes sense to me.

I'm aware of that. But Covid has certainly introduced some relocation trends, and Greenwich seems like an obvious easy relocation for some of the NYC elite.

A lot of IB MD's and Hedge Fund people naturally migrate (either for work or to live or both) to that ultra-wealthy part of Fairfield County to begin with so regardless of any Covid trends I don't think it's going to steal NYC's finance cheese either way. It's an interesting observation but these 2 areas already thrive off each other in the financial services space anyway and I don't really think Covid moved the needle that much in either's favor besides that segment of the population fleeing the city for the rich burbs, etc.

I think those two in particular moreso. Miami is tiny, but is surrounded by places like Miami Beach, and the metro is lined up for what, 90 miles of beachside millionaire neighborhoods...

On the other hand, you look at a place like Houston, and most of the wealth is IN the city of Houston, which has a very large city limit.

MSA vs MSA, I have a feeling that Miami would rank MUCH higher than it does here, as for studies such as this one, it is at a major disadvantage due to city limit sizes.

Also for what it's worth... Palm Beach alone (Not WEST Palm Beach) has 11 billionaires as of its last study.
