Bit surprising that there aren't any Michelin star restaurants in New Orleans. They do have some more traditional French food options.

Not really. The crowd that likes those places are too rich for New Orleans.

As someone who has been robbed in NOLA at a house (break in) while I was away and on the street, Orlando wins everything because I won't be back.

I agree. New Orleans has too many crime ridden run down areas for me. The city is not growing like Orlando, and not as diverse of economy. The area felt segregated in some ways. Have and have nots type of city.

Yeah but the culture of the city isn't like that of Miami. The gold leaf covered saffron wouldn't really be a hot dish in New Orleans.

That's what I love about New Orleans. Top notch food for$25 or less.

You can get a plate out the trunk of a car that's better than some fancy places for $8.
Which is probably why I don't even like the concept of Michelin star restaurants.

So then, how are we defining "Dining out, both casual and fine" for the sake of this thread?
Why were you so shocked that people are voting Orlando?
Even if you want to go cheap, the place is full of authentic Mexican spots, Dominican, Brazilian, etc.
You also get a good taste of Afro-American Soul Food if that's your thing...

I'm just not understanding why you were so shocked. It's a large metropolitan area with tons of diversity from all over the world. It's bound to have good eats that accommodate all walks of life.

Not particularly up to me, that's up to the OP. I thought it was obvious that it was kind of a joke, and like I said before, one is a city known around the world for its food. Orlando isn't known for food whatsoever on a national or global scale. It's known for amusement parks and hot weather.

Every major city has good food options but none are New Orleans. I think that's a pretty grounded take.
