Still a long way to go. 2017 and 2018 had <300 numbers...

That appears to be the trend in most cities, an improvement from 2020-2022 but still higher than the pre-COVID years.

Atlanta has seen some great progress. Don't know enough about Seattle...is it better now?

Yes it has. I hope it keeps it up as July and August have been more violent, which is the usual. As long as the next four months aren't worse than the same period last year which was pretty much non-stop.

Not sure about Seattle, don't remember what it was this time last year but I think the total for 2022 was around 65-ish.

Does anyone have the numbers for Orlando, Metro Orlando, and/or Orange County, FL?
Seems like there are murders virtually every day. A lot of them might not be included in the actual Orlando count due to Orlando's weird city boundaries, as it excludes places like Pine Hills.

Number updated to 177 (169*) now. Numbers are definitely more "normal" this month with 19 (18*) homicides already, which was the total the entire July.

As other said, while this would be the best year in Baltimore since 2014 if the trends continue, it's still some ugly numbers.

Whenever Hampton is quiet, count on Newport News to come pick up the slack. Two more murders recently, one from Sunday night where a 16 y/o boy was shot and killed in the East End. The next happened yesterday, a 22 y/o man was shot by the passenger while driving and crashed, but the assailant was uninjured and was caught walking down the street shortly after.

Now at 30 for the year. The all-time high is 33.
