16 in 6 days in beginning of August but then slow down quite a bit. Now 7 in first 4 days of September.

Lost track of the count in MoCo. Seems to be 1 or 2 a month but it happens when you just have 1M people with some areas that are just not that great (plus areas around Takoma Park/Silver Spring that gets DC spillover crimes).

Meanwhile zero so far in Baltimore this month. Maybe it's just so hot that even the criminal doesn't want to go outdoor .
No thats unheard of for Baltimore. When I lived up that way folks were getting killed in blizzards, weather played no factor. Hopefully its under 300 for the first time in forever. DC is very disappointing to even be in the same breath homicide wise.

It's definitely a joke (I Mean, DC is basically the same weather and that haven't stop the homicides) .

More seriously, zero over a long weekend is always good. It's still trending towards around 300, so as you said, crossing fingers that it'll be under 300 for once.

Overall it's not just homicides, but shootings were way down also even with that mess at Brooklyn Homes.

Atlanta had a violent Labor Day weekend with 5 homicides, and another one this morning. Not sure where that puts it at now but it was at 81 as of 8/26, while it was at 112 same time last year. The next four months would have to have the same number as the first eight months of this year to match last year's total. Lets hope that doesn't happen but you never know.

More arrests in Cleveland, which after a 3 month period of nearly a homicide a day is in a streak of 4 in the past 38-40 days.

https://www.cleveland.com/court-just...cleveland.html

It took the Cuyahoga Sheriff's Office, Ohio Highway Patrol, US Marshal's and the ATF, but they are cleaning house....

If you know anything about local Cleveland politics, the reason it got so bad was political. The reason its being cleaned up is also political. It was now making people higher up than the mayor look bad.

Also, proof that a small number of people can wreak havoc on a neighborhood/city. I'm sure they haven't haven't gotten everyone but the people causing these crimes aren't street dumb either. They know its hot right now and laying low. ... why I'm not reading that much into the "calmness" long term.
