Not only that, but its densely populated areas in Alexandria and Arlington have very low homicide rates, even around the projects in Alexandria.

the high-income parts of PG are not where the crime is.

The immediate parts of PG across DC's boarder are mostly crime ridden.

39/45 of murders in PG have happened within the beltway including Temple Hills which would be a rate around 11 similar to Oakland at 350k
6 murders happened outside the beltway at 550k+ would be a rate of 1.09 similar to San Diego. Outside the Beltway I would argue is the highest majority black population with the lowest murder rate in the nation.

I understand what you are trying to say between Prince William, PGC, Silver Spring, Fairfax co, Waldorf etc there is a murder every other day. There's usually up 400 murders in the entire metro but the population is so large it keeps the rates low for the msa.

And out of the 6, a few of them were domestic violence which can, sadly, happen anywhere.

FFX Co only have 11 homicides out of 1.14M...and IIRC a few of those are domestic violence.

Much safer than, let say, Montgomery County MD with areas like Silver Spring, Wheaton, and Germantown having shootings every week.
================================
Baltimore now at 125 (121*), and suburban Anne Arundel County at 15. The latter number jumped after a mass shooting in Annapolis over (what sources said) a parking dispute between neighbor where a family holding a birthday party get shot at.
