I stopped in Rochester for a weekend after hiking in Letchworth State Park and Canandaigua. It had a decent built environment. Downtown needed a lot of work. Neighborhoods to the immediate east of downtown were in much better shape and had nicer charm than the westside of the city. I expected residential neighborhoods on the level of Buffalo, but that is not the case.

Omaha, Nebraska?
I'd give it a solid 3 out of 5.
Super good quality of life for a family, in a growing city that is relatively not dangerous/full of crime at all. Good jobs, economy and cost of housing.
Decent amount of things to do but pretty average overall.
It is pretty far away from other populated/large city areas though, and if someone is coming from a larger city, Omaha could seem pretty quiet and/or "boring."

Stamford, CT?

Great economy, close to NYC but not NYC, greats schools nearby. It’s ideal in many ways. The main issues I have with it are being in a higher tax state and it’s too cold for my liking. I understand the schools in Stamford itself aren’t great either, but you could live in nearby New Canaan for example and get that.

Sticking with the tri-state area…
Scarsdale, NY
4/5
Blue chip suburb of NYC. Objectively a 5/5 town if you can afford it. Reasonable commute to Manhattan, easy commute to White Plains. It's a very wealthy area with every amenity provided and top tier schools. I'm not that familiar with the area, but I think if I'm going to be out that far and spending that kind of money, I would prefer other towns in the area like Rye or Greenwich.

Panama City, Florida
I've only passed through Panama City once, but it didn't stand out much to me. Like I had the opinion it was okay, but nothing that'd make me want to necessarily jump to live there. Neighboring Panama City Beach looked a tad better, but there are other places on the Gulf coast I'd prefer like Destin and Apalachicola.

Pensacola, FL
2/5 Decent downtown but overall not a fan of the surrounding area. Some rundown areas. Nice beaches on the gulf though.
I don't think I have much to ad to the post on Stamford just a couple of posts ago. It's a shame they lost their Dunder Mifflin branch though.

Oklahoma City OK
3 out of 5.
Pros: reasonable housing costs, growing fast, nice neighborhoods, decently good economy, good place for some familes to live
Cons: hotbed for conservative everything, western cowboy culture at every turn, sort of isolated, big enough for some options but small enough for not a lot of options, restaurant scene is average

Louisville, KY?
3.5 out of 5
Louisville is a pretty underrated city when you're not on listening to their chamber of commerce on city data. I don't make it down as often as I'd like anymore, we've recently replaced Louisville with Cincinnati as our nearby day trip city of choice. Louisville would be so much more awesome if the 8664 movement had succeeded before the spaghetti junction expansion.

Cincinnati OH
3.5. Not my favorite place to go but it’s cool for a couple of days.
