Absolutely not. The Napa Valley one is debatable though

I lived in Hawaii for eight years. The islands function as one market, and it's very easy to get from one to another. Makes no sense to me to separate, say, Lanai from Maui.

It makes complete sense. I grouped these by metro. which isn’t a perfect case. But the islands certainly don’t get grouped together here

I wouldn’t even say it is. I live in Napa county, we’re 100% part of the Bay Area.

Love lists like these. Have stayed at 7 so far, with reservations for 2 this summer (Boston Harbor Hotel + Park Hyatt NY)

Minneapolis has a Four Seasons...seems to be missing from the list.

Four Seasons hotels don't automatically make the list.
The data presented is a Forbes ranking system based on a range of criteria. To qualify as a Forbes 5 Star Hotel is a difficult feat.

Yes you are.

Zero debate whatsoever.

So with Napa Valley included, that makes SFBA in third tied with its California sibling of LA.

This. Forbes 5 Star is extremely selective. And while some Four Seasons hotels are among the best hotels in the world, not all Four Seasons are equal. Four Seasons isn’t like Ritz-Carlton/Peninsula/Montage in this regard that every property will classify for the highest standards.

What I notice is that in places with very competitive luxury hotel markets like NYC/Chicago/Boston, Four Seasons sets the standards higher than in others
