I think Non-Hispanic White is what you should be looking at.

If you exclude Hispanics from white it doesn’t show a major difference, Los Angeles and Washington DC has the lowest income gap among black and white, if comparing city to city among any major metro https://censusreporter.org/data/dist...d=31000US31080

Also if you look at median income

Black median income: Washington DC= 81,000

Non Hispanic white median income= 100,000

No other 3 metros is that close

This is the latest annual data from data.census.gov:

Washington-Arlington-Alexandria 2021:
Median Non-Hispanic White Family Income: $164,987
Median Black Family Income: $101,149

Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim 2021:
Median Non-Hispanic White Family Income: $131,127
Median Black Family Income: $75,132

The Median Black Family Income in the DC Metro is very impressive indeed! However it is still about 30% less than the Median Non-Hispanic White Family Income in the LA Metro.

Sorry , man I compared the wrong city, black wealth in DC is more similar to white wealth in Atlanta, not LA https://censusreporter.org/data/dist...d=31000US12060

DC seems like the city with the best opportunity and community for POC, especially Black Americans in the Northeast.

While DC does appear that way, when you consider COL and overall opportunities for POC, Atlanta edges it out. To me, I've always had these cities #1 and 2, metros included.

Oh yeah I hear about Atlanta a lot here. Lots of Black Americans move down to ATL (And DC...) from NY/NJ and do soooo much better.
