This will be a fun one. And basing this off city general city limits since it seems the thread is not about metros.

Livability - Very different, but I say Philadelphia because you cannot do anything in Phoenix without a car, and general amenities are sparser and far between.

Education - K-12, I feel that Philadelphia slightly performs better, but neither are great. Higher education, Philadelphia, not even close.

Nightlife - Philadelphia offers more across the board.

Infrastructure - I guess Philadelphia even with its aging infrastructure?

Natural Scenery - Edge to Phoenix, though Philadelphia has a nice Northeastern setting.

Cuisine - Philadelphia, not even close.

Safety - Phoenix (though both don't perform well here).

Transportation - Philadelphia.

Architecture - Philadelphia, not close.

Amenities - Philadelphia.

Weather - Subjective. I prefer Philadelphia weather, but I'll call this a draw.

Dating - Philadelphia.

Economy/Jobs - Philadelphia.

Sports Culture - Philadelphia, not close.

Etc. - Skyline - Philadelphia, we love our skylines on CD! And local culture and history might be good ones to add.

In summary, Philadelphia cleanly wins this comparison. Phoenix punches under it's weight for a city of it's size, though it has improved a lot in recent years.

I agree with absolutely all of these. Phoenix feels like nowhere near the city that Philadelphia is.

I'm a sucker for Phoenix and the Phoenix area. I love how you can get up and hike in your back yard up a 800ft mountain, then enjoy the day. Im comparing the MSAs.

Livability: Phoenix
Education: Philadelphia
Nightlife: Philadelphia
Infrastructure: Philadelphia (More rapid transit)
Natural Scenery: Phoenix (Im a sucker for PHXs natural enviornment)
Cuisine: Philadelphia
Safety: Phoenix
Transportation: Philadelphia
Architecture: Philadelphia
Amenities: Philadelphia (Ocean, mountains, towns, cities, burbs, etc)
Weather: Phoenix
Dating: Idk tbh. EVeryone is moving to Phoenix I hear.
Economy/Jobs: Phoenix
Sports Culture: Philadelphia

Here, I would chose Philadelphia. But if I had to personally chose, I'd be living in Scottsdale AZ. I love it there. I would chose Phoenix over Boston and Seattle, in case you are wondering.

Phoenix might be the weakest major city in America. It certainly feels dwarfed by every single other top 10 metro.

Infrastrucure: Phoenix by a lot
Natural Scenery: Phoenix, not close
Cuisine: Philadelphia but not by all that much
Safety: Phoenix by a solid margin
Transportation: Philadelphia, not close
Architecture: Philadelphia by an enormous amount
Amenities: Philadelphia comfortably
Weather: Phoenix by far for me but I could see picking Philadelphia as it's milder
Dating: not sure, assume Philadelphia
Economy/Jobs: Not sure
Sports Culture: Not sure
Overall Personal Preference: Phoenix

Phoenix is cool and all but it’s not really in Philly’s league tbh.
