I'd flip Miami, Orlando, Vegas, Honolulu, and Maui to other seasons when we're shivering up north. Why would I fly to Miami or Orlando in July where it's oppressively hot and humid when it's the best time of year to be outside with so much to do up north?
Most people are going to Orlando during summer break for the amusement parks. It's also hard to match South Beach (even with the humidity) with the beaches up north.
I guess all of the driving vacations that people take don't count, as only airline bookings were looked at. Otherwise, Branson, Pigeon Forge, Niagara Falls, Washington DC, Cape Cod, and Myrtle Beach would be high on the list.

Miami is fantastic, as are South Florida beaches. I'd much rather visit in other seasons when it's colder here as the climate there provides a welcome relief. I just see it as pointless to go from the frying pan into the fire in the summer. Regardless of comparison, we have a lot to do up here in the summer without having to fly off to somewhere and from our perspective Florida has a lot more appeal in other seasons.
Are most Americans buying travel insurance for domestic travel? I’ve heard of it for travel to third-world countries, but I’d never even consider it domestically.
My health insurance (Kaiser Permanente) is national and my CC has delay/theft/cancellation insurance. So I imagine this list is heavily skewed to places foreigners are travelling to.

Domestic and International travel insurance has skyrocketed in the COVID/post-COVID era. It’s very, very much a thing for Domestic travel.
