Not a top city but worth mentioning, Tacoma

- Buffalo Soldiers Museum
- Hilltop district (multi-ethnic but the center of the black community) with a new streetcar along MLK Ave, and many black-owned businesses
- Various soul food restaurants e.g. Southern Kitchen, Quickie Too
- People's Park, has murals of black historical figures
- Nettie Asberry House, the former home of an influential black music educator and activist who founded the first NAACP chapter in the West (and may have been the first African-American woman to earn a Ph.D). Currently just a historic landmark, but there are tentative plans to make it a museum
