I have lived in both Phoenix and Tucson. They’re relatively close together yet very different cities. Any other cities that fall in the same category. Just curious.

Agreed, I really didn't expect them to feel so different.

Portland, OR and Longview, WA (Longview is 45 mins away and in Portland's CSA, but is a depressed Rust Belt-type paper mill city, that votes red and has little walkability or counterculture)

San Jose and Oakland, CA

Butte and Helena, MT

Decatur and Urbana-Champaign, IL

Aurora and Naperville, IL
