Here are urban areas by "white, not Hispanic" based on As Above So Below's post in the 2023 demographics thread from December using the last five-year ACS:

Portland: 68.2%
St. Louis: 66.0%
Boston: 64.5%
Detroit: 60.7%
Denver: 60.0%
Tampa: 58.4%
Philadelphia: 58.1%
Seattle: 57.2%
Phoenix: 55.8%
Chicago: 48.4%
Baltimore: 47.1%
New York: 42.8%
San Diego: 42.7%
Atlanta: 39.3%
Las Vegas: 38.8%
Washington DC: 38.2%
Dallas: 37.9%
San Francisco: 33.8%

San Francisco's number is pretty low actually. And I'm defending Seattle's honor here too.

Thanks for substantiating! And didn’t mean it as a slight against Seattle haha - just figured West Coast cities would be an easier referential point for that poster
As mentioned before, it's not true that SF is the whitest city on either basis. Really not sure where you're getting this from, unless you consider Asians white (and even then, other cities on that list would come ahead)...

Only 5.1% are African Americans, the city is 44.1% white.

Curious about this as well. Asians are not white but to some people, minority count does not include them, just black or Hispanic, which ironically, Hispanics are considered caucasian.
Yeah, Pittsburghers should hang their heads in shame for that.
Also, ethnic diversity tends to be a flywheel effect where once you get an established immigrant community they attract even more immigrants from that community and so on. This usually directly depends on job growth and availability which in Pittsburgh and by extension western PA have not lead in since the steel industry collapse, which just so happened to coincide with the largest period of non-European immigration to the U.S. in history.
It's pretty crazy to me that a big Pittsburgh homer like yourself would post something like this blaming the locals and people that recently moved here instead of the greedy industry titans and corrupt politicians that are directly responsible for the huge loss of industry, jobs, and people in the first place. The natives that live in Pittsburgh are very friendly and welcoming to immigrant communities and the ones that stayed through the hard times in the 80's 90's are solely responsible for the turnaround of the city and region today and should be commended for that.
Also, "diversity" by itself in modern times is a misleading statistic. It does not account for the nuances of cultural and ethnic diversity and tends to focus way to much on just outward appearances. It also does not account for the differences in quality of immigrant/ethnic communities. In Pittsburgh, the newer immigrant ethnic communities on average tend to be more higher education focused and productive to the community/economy more so than other metro areas that are considered "highly diverse" yet that important detail is never brought up. "Pittsburgh is whiter that all these other cities/metros" is all we ever hear even though the situation is more complicated than that.

Not as a rule. Hispanics can be of any 'race' and it's quite clear that many are of mixed and heavily African ancestry.
Seattle being less white than Boston is surprising
But i feel alot of these northeast cities gonna drop real fast with these outward migration patterns. Boston, nyc, philly and CT are gonna shed boomer whites in exchange for the diverse fast growing young latino/asian populations. There will be a big drop grom now till the 2040s
Seattle being less white than Boston is surprising
I think Seattle being less white than Philadelphia is a lot more "surprising"
but again, not totally, the Metro Area was built out at a very different time.
