Which of the following North Carolina metros would you live in: Charlotte, Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, or Greensboro/Winston-Salem/High Point? Describe the similarities and differences of the three areas too, and tell why you like one metro over the other.

I choose Charlotte because it has the most to do, its closest to the mountains, best skyline, wealthy, and best transit of the three.

Greensboro...it's the only one with a moderate growth rate. The others are getting a little bit crazy at the moment (nothing wrong with a strong growth rate, but it will take awhile for the infrastructure to get caught up).

But in terms of excitement, probably Charlotte.

I like the Greensboro - Winston-Salem area, although of those cities I prefer Winston-Salem. It's a bit smaller than Greensboro but, in my opinion, is a little nicer because of the presence of Wake Forest University and WFU's outstanding medical school. Winston-Salem also has a very unique history; it was settled by Moravians, a Czech religious sect that came to America a couple hundred years ago. Old Salem is fascinating.

Winston-Salem is also the headquarters of Krispy Kreme...
