Which one of these cities will cross the 1 Million Mark first? population 700k or higher:
Indianapolis
Columbus Ohio
San Fransisco
Fort Worth
Austin, Texas
Jacksonville, FL
Charlotte, NC

Please provide a reason or two to why you think your pick will cross the 1 Million mark first

Also San Jose will not be included in this list cause its just shy of 1M so it would be fair to not include it.

I would have to go with either Austin or Fort Worth. Those Texas cities seem to grow at a very fast rate.

Jacksonville, Austin and Charlotte all have the land needed for them to cross that threshold first. Out of the three, I think I'd say Jacksonville first, Austin second and Charlotte third. I only put Jacksonville first because of the ginormous amount of land they have to develop.

I would probably go with whichever city can annex the fastest.

Indianapolis has alot of more room to grow. Problem is the new construction on the outskirts are very spread out, but i still think it can hit 1million before these cities, it already has over 800,000 people.

1990 395,934 25.5%
2000 540,828 36.6% +144,894
2010 731,424 35.2% +190,596
2011 751,087 (20,000 people since the 2010 census.).

Charlotte should reach it a couple of years after 2020 (if current growth for the past 30 years continues).....The city has a lot of undeveloped land and NC's annexation laws are one of the least strict in the country

830,000 Indianapolis gained 7500 people in 1 year according to the Estimates. However these are Estimates so they should be taken with a grain of salt. Also Indiana is now a right to work state so job growth will be stronger in Indianapolis now.
Also it depends on what you define as Indianapolis.
Unlike the Census i define Indianapolis as all of Marion County EXCEPT Speedway/Southport/Lawrence/Beech Groove. Heck you might even consider Southport to be part of Indy cause IMPD patrols the area.
