The problem with Albuquerque is location, its kind of isolated. Because of that they have a hard time getting business to move there.

Las Vegas has a similar issue, they are a great gambling city and growing fast but are there any major companies moving there?

I think they are a big city now. I take it as a city currently not in the top that will be there in the next 25 to 50 years. Maybe I miss understand it.

Be honored that Indianapolis is not mentioned on here. They have much more to offer than any of the cities I have mentioned. I consider them to already be a "big" city.

That region actually does take those cities into account, and it also includes Birmingham too. I guess its because those are the 2 major cities. Think BoWash, which actually leaves NYC out of the name, the nations largest and most global city.

Actually the term "BosWash" is accurate because it stretches from Boston to Washington and includes all of the cities in between them. In other words, it is geographically inclusive. "Charlanta" as a term doesn't do that.

I like how Colorado does it better, instead of trying to combine names of the major cities like from Denver and Pueblo they call it the Front Range Urban Corridor. That way the region has a name yet each city can keep their identity.

Too many Sun Belt towns on this list. The Sun Belt will almost assuredly grow in the short term, but I don't like the long term prospects. We are in for some major changes in the next thirty years. Many Sun Belt cities will no longer be viable because of their utter reliance on cheap oil, energy, and imported drinking water. The "Wet Sun Belt" will fare better than the deserts like Phoenix and Las Vegas.

I do think that a mid-sized city like Omaha has potential, though. It's surrounded by farmland and is in a region of the country that actually supports life. And it may be safe from the social strife that the collapse of our economic system may bring.
