It has a great location with quick and convenient transit up and down the east coast. It has a fluency to it, meaning I can walk to anywhere I wish to go without having to deal with the hood or car central. It has made tremendous progress. Now, don't get me wrong. My purpose is not to diss the other places. I just prefer Baltimore.
I'm from Atlanta, and have lived in Atlanta, Baltimore, DC and New Orleans and my pick from this list was DC, but I actually agree with this poster most... I probably should have taken a little longer to think about it...

I've also spent time in Cleveland, Detroit and St. Louis, well enough time to know that neither are cities for me... All too cold and not enough of things I'm looking for to off-set the weather blues...

BMore is home of my #2 NFL team (Falcons fan 1st, Ravens fan 2nd) and right up the road from the home of my favorite NHL team (Capitals fan). BMore comes 2nd on this list to NOLA for best food, but beats NOLA on jobs. DC wins on transit (because I DO love when I'm in DC being able to go weeks without driving!!! LOVE IT!!!), But it does beat all the other choices with Transit and beats DC on cost of living and in traffic. BMore is not as nice and warm as NOLA, and ATL (although in recent years it seems like ATL's climate is almost the same as everywhere all the way to DC, so it's just a little colder and gloomier than DC and ATL), but it's still better weather than Cleveland and Detroit. Now that I think of it, I probably should have chosen BMore... Well, only thing is BMore just simply looks and feels darker and gloomier than DC. All the brick buidlings make the town just feel rust beltish. Darker, harder and gloomier... DC just FEELS cleaner and brighter overall...

Okay, tie between DC and BMore for me...

Both cities would be more relevant on a list with major metros more their size.
Atlanta: 5.2 Million
DC: 5.5 Million
Detroit: 4.2 Million
Detroit- Windsor: 5.7 Million (The REAL metro Detroit population)
