Actually Charlotte and Richmond are a lot closer in total office space than Charlotte is to either Denver or Dallas.

Total Office Space: CB Richard Ellis 2nd Quarter 2011
Dallas CBD - 29,899,985
Denver CBD - 25,545,755

Charlotte CBD - 15,642,121

You list Charlotte's and I will list how much more Denver has to offer.

- GDP

Latest GDP figures by metropolitan area
Denver: $152,868 B
Charlotte MSA: $110,427 B
Not even close

Cultural Offerings
Again, you start by listing Charlotte's and I will list Denver's.

- Headquarters / Business

Denver is a regional powerhouse compared to Charlotte.

- Airport
DIA is much larger than Charlotte Douglas

Even with that said. Charlotte has a small, but tall downtown area. It's only a few blocks in length. Dallas has a pretty large and developed street grid. Atlanta and Miami are better comparisons. I love Charlotte, but Charlotte is a tiny place by comparison.

I agree. I'm from Charlotte and I have a lot of pride when it comes to the city, but I don't let my pride cloud reality. Charlotte has come a long way in a relatively short time, but it a long way to go before it catches up to many cities / metro areas.

Ok so buddy you personally attack me and im juvenille?!!! First of all those b.s. Numbers for charlotte is WRONG!! Charlotte has 27 million sq ft of office space Uptown!!! Secondly i will be 31 Sept 1! Third we are not talking about how big and tall the cbds are, we are talking about their density and urbanity. Those are two different things. While Dallas might be taller(someone please look this up) and bigger, Uptown Charlotte is more compact, vibrant, and pedestrian friendly. There are more residents in Uptown Charlotte than Downtown Dallas. All of Charlottes pro arenas downtown. There are more restaraunts and after hours venues. Plus downtown Dallas dies evry night after 5pm..Uptown Charlotte keeps goin.... I never said Charlotte was huge, im just sayin its allot more than what you are making it out to be...

LOL!! Uptown Charlotte does not have 27 million sq. feet of office space. Not even close. Uptown has 17 million sq. feet at most and that includes Class A, B and C office space as well as government space.

Here is a report from Charlotte Center City Partners that has numbers similar to what I posted earlier and what I stated above.

You're dreamin alright. I was gonna bother to post pictures, but why bother. Your posts are ridiculous. Charlotte isn't compact and vibrant at all when compared to Dallas or Denver.. Charlotte is nice on the weekend, but most cities are nowadays. Dallas is 30 years ahead of Charlotte. If you were boosting Atlanta or Miami, then you might have a point. Until then you sound like country bumpkin that has never left Mecklenburg county. Get out more then you will realize Charlotte is small potatoes.

Don't let your bias fool you. Charlotte isn't the huge city you try to make it seem like. Thats not a bad thing though, i like metros in the 1millions

GIVE U THAT BUT NOT EXTREME!

Cultural Offerings

LATER
- Headquarters / Business

Denver is a regional powerhouse compared to Charlotte.
You cant be serious. CHARLOTTE RANKS #7 in Country for FORTUME 500 HEADQUARTERS. ITS THE 2nd Largest BANKING CENTER IN THE COUNTRY. BANK OF AMERICA DESTROYS ANY COMPANY IN DENVER- Airport
DIA is much larger than Charlotte Douglas
CHARLOTTE DOUGLAS RANKS TOP TEN IN THE WORLD FOR TRAFFIC!

The sad part is i like both Dallas and Denver. All u guys can argue for Uptown Dallas is that it is larger than uptown Charlotte.. Like i sadid uptown charlotte is more vibrant, pedestrian friendly, more amenities then both Richmind and Dallas which both die horrible deaths after 5..again u guys are arguing whats bigger and im arguing whats better

Charlotte Douglas is not ranked in the top ten in the world.

According to Airports Council International's 2010 year end statistics, Charlotte ranks 25th (38,143,078 passengers), which means it could easily drop. Dallas ranked 8th and Denver ranked 10th.

Speaking of being dead after 5, I stayed in uptown Charlotte for a week and that city dies after 5. Foot traffic picks up Fri and Sat night, but it is dead during weekend days and throughout the week.
