I would say, with a few TV shows as examples

1. New York (Sopranos, Sex and the City, Friends, Seinfield)
2. Los Angeles (Brady Bunch, BH 90210, Two and a half men)
3. San Francisco (Full House)
4. Chicago
5. Boston (Boston Legal)
6. Seattle (Frasier, Greys Anatomy)
7. Washington D.C. (NCIS, well close enough)

And then it's pretty hard to tell after that. By far most TV shows seem to be set in New York, even some that are filmed in LA like Everybody Loves Raymond.

I might add Atlanta, with House of Payne, Designing Women, and Matlock...along with CNN and The Weather Channel. There are also a few others:

BET's Hell Date and College Hill.
HGTV's Designed to Sell and A&E's Flip this House both have Atlanta teams in addition to teams in a couple of other cities.
Cartoon Network/Adult Swim shows.
T.I.'s new show on MTV, Road to Redemption (does it count if it's court-ordered?).
Bravo's Real Housewives of Atlanta (yes, some are ridiculous).
The Bobby Brown/Whitney Houston Show (some are even worse).

Ah yes, how could I forget Las Vegas. Atlanta too, which is probably number one in the South.

I would say New Orleans too, not for TV but mainly for movies. Miami also seems to get a decent amount of exposure in TV and movies.
