I thought you said that geography had nothing to do with Southernness. The Florida example for instance.

I said geography doesn't always indicate culture

To a degree, NOVA which is geographically South, but is now more Northern in culture, faces the same delimma.

I just love the Upper South states of GA and ALAbama. Even though they are just barely in the South, they are so much nicer than Yankee NC and VA and TN!

The obvious GEOGRAPHIC dividing line between Maine and Florida on any map is the North Carolina/Virginia border with NC going to the South and Virginia going to the North.

No, its the Mason Dixon line.

Then I suppose you are saying NC and TN are just barely in the South.

Wow, the South sure is a small part of the country, lol

Oh, and I guess Kentucky is not the South either. That will upset MissyMom3.

Ahh, you misunderstand.

We're talking East Coast physical geography not historical arbitrary terminology.

Your maps are all over the place. Sometimes they include Maryland, sometimes they don't. They include Texas and Florida which repudiates almost 90% of your posts. I'm afraid I'm not sensing any consistency here.
