Two year old thread is two years old. It's safe to say that the OP probably found a place to live by now, and there's been hundreds fo other "what cities are friendly to asians / are asian-influenced" since then.
Montgomery County Maryland (a Washington DC suburb) is a good place to live for Chinese American families and couples. There are several Chinese language schools for children, a large number of high quality teacher and Chinese speaking teachers in public and private schools. There are also cultural events almost every weekend, plus large number of Chinese supermarkets.
When you speak of Dallas are you referring to the city proper or the suburbs?
Suburbs most definitely.
Asians in the Dallas area don't live in city proper. Not the middle class or wealthy ones anyways. There is a small pocket of lower class Asians (Cambodian & Vietnamese) in Old East Dallas, but its not really a "community" per se.
I gave Seattle a shout out. Not only does it have a significant Asian American population but it's a relatively prosperous one as well.
I also agree with Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Chicago and Houston. I'm not sure but I think Boston also has a relatively successful Asian American population--well, at least Chinese American.
The best city for Asian-Americans is whatever you consider the best city in America to be. There's nothing to prevent Asian-Americans from living in any major city that's a worth a damn these days...
There are plenty of Asians in the Boston Metro Area. In the city you can find plenty of Vietnamese in Dorchester(Fields Corner). The Chinese population is visible in Chinatown as well. However if you go outside the city the Chinese population in Quincy is quite robust. There are also Vietnamese in Quincy and Randolph.
If you go to Lowell you'll find a vibrant Cambodian community with Laotians as well. There are also alot of Asians in Arlington. Indians are dotted throughout the southern suburbs; typically around Norwood and Canton.
Pretty much every town and city in Eastern MA has an Asian presence though. So I won't name every town where you would find Asians. I don't about other areas but Asians around here assimilate really well into their immediate surroundings. We have poor Asian 'hoods' and rich Asian ones as well.
