I don't see Louisiana losing its Southernness anytime soon. There aren't any places where northerners are moving here in large numbers.

Is southernality even a word? Anyway, I don't see Arkansas, Alabama or Mississippi losing their southern roots any time soon.

But Texans are big headed (no offense TexasReb)

They will probably have pistols at dawn.

The South has EXCELLENT SCHOOLS. And Yankees flock by the dozen to get in

UVA, William and Mary, Duke , Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, U. of Richmond, College of Charleston, Augusta State, Tulane U, UNC, Auburn

Just to name a few. Plus we're not all hung about our schools as if thats the only thing we have going for us.

I'm reading some contradictions here.

For one, you obviously ARE hung up on schools if you accuse other regions of doing so after listing a litany of universities and colleges in a classic case of one-upmanship. Now, how many of these are Ivy League schools?

Second contradiction: 3 of those schools aren't Southern at all, but Mid-Atlantic schools.

No, ALL of those schools are Southern. They are listed and acredited with the Southern Association of Colleges and Universities
Commission on Colleges

Ahh, but are they Ivy League? And three of them are in the Mid-Atlantic.

And aren't YOU a bit hung up on schools, when in actuality you accused other regions of the same?
