I know a lot of threads concerning the Northification of the South have been on here lately. Which Southern state has the least worries about losing its southernness?

I would say Kentucky or Mississippi has little risk of losing its Southern feeling.

I see Kentucky having one of the greatest risks of loosing its southern flare. IMO Alabama would be my choice of state that would fall to Northification last.

Not sure about Kentucky. But yes, any state in the Deep South west of Georgia is okay.

But VA and the Carolinas I'm afraid.....

People in SC still have VERY strong southern accents

Everyone here sounds like Larry the Cable guy and Dolly Parton

Mississippi & Alabama aren't goin nowhere... Louisiana & Arkansas are runner ups.
Maryland left a long time ago.
What might be on its way from the southern vibe is VA.

I'd put North Carolina before VA. VA's more rural than Carolina I think. (I was talking about the next to go lose southerness)

Basically the entire former confederacy minus Florida, Virginia, Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston, and Dallas.

Yes, I think more rural areas of each state. MS, AL, WV and SC would top my list.

Why is that? I would say Mississippi and maybe even Kentucky because people are not moving to them in droves. I am not sure about Alabama and Louisiana.
