I will grant you LA has a nice sky line but given the fact the city is lager then Chicago its kind of wimpy.

Seattle, not such a great view of the mountains...

You clearly have not been to Seattle. It has several mountain views in addition to Mount Rainier. You have the Olympics to the West and the Cascades to the east.

Moreover, Mount Rainier is a much more dramatic backdrop than the foothills you see from Denver.

All joking aside its hard to rate the top 5 as most of the major cities in the United States have great skylines.....

I still say that LA's skyline is small for its size though....

Edit : Sky line to skyline MY bad!

true L.A. skyline could be a little more beefier for a city of it's size and magnitude.
