As for everything else it's not even close. Food, culture, diversity, nightlife, fashion, education, it's not even fair how far ahead NJ is of SC.
I'm sure that includes some negatives as well that you aren't mentioning here (crime, poverty, homelessness, etc.). No place is a paradise. There are trade-offs everywhere.

haha, only way you'll get in a fight in Cape May is if some old man decides to hit you with his cane for butting in front of him in line at the antiques store, haha, but really I was joking about the fights, I chose South Carolina more because if I were to live near the beach I'd prefer it to be a little warmer than the Jersey Shore
NJ. Selection of malls, big cities in 1 day travel distance (NYC, Philly, Baltimore, DC, Boston), bearable summers, and more companies to look job for.

Crime and homelessness maybe I can give you, but I highly doubt there are more poor people in NJ than SC.
