I would say Philly.

I have a lot of friends that live in Central NJ and the commute time is the exact to Philly as NYC. For some reason I always end up in NYC and have never gone to Philly

With the exception of San Antonio, which does get the occasional postive comment, I could have said all of these cities. But I kept it to three, Philadelphia, Nashville and Sacramento. Of course I also checked other.

Fort Worth, Texas. Fort Worth is it's own city with it's own culture yet somehow it has the perception that it's just a large suburb of Dallas.

None of the ones you listed are really overshadowed.
