I-80 at the Bay Bridge Toll Plaza in Oakland is 20 lanes westbound, 8 eastbound. (Two of those eastbound lanes spill into I-880.)

In San Jose, the widest freeway is I-280 before the 101 junction, which briefly has 6 lanes in each direction.

This is actually a picture of the Eastshore Freeeway(80) in Berkeley, California just as you pass University Avenue. The highrises in the distance is Emeryville, the body of water to the right is San Francisco Bay.
