Niether does any city. And its clear as day. Look at all the cities considered to be some kind of competition as new york

TOKYO- Great city, great infrastructure. But thats where it ends, new york has all that and great culture, food diversity etc. Tokyo is too japanese centric to be taken seriously as a true world city. keep it real. New york also has more famouse cultures and attractions that sprouted from this cirt

Paris- Great old city, city of love or whatever. All they have that is the eifel, which doesnt compete with the statue oif liberty, and that was from the french. How you going to give new york something thats better than anything in your own city.lmao

l'll get back to the others

If we traced all the tentacles controlling the world today, back to the Octopus in the middle, I think they would lead to MOSCOW.

Why not make it official?

Um Austin, Texas.

No competition there.

Just kidding. Should have seen the look on your faces! Priceless, especially the New Yorkers.

OmShahi, despite the fact that New Yorker defend their city in city-data most of people in NYC do not really care what people think of the city.
Just think about it, having thousands of celebrities living in the city great sport teams like NY Yankees, Giants etc, New York Times, United Nations and Wall Street and being the biggest city in the US with the highest GDP while the mayor is a pro-bon working real-life billionaire do you really think New Yorkers need any assurance about the city's greatness???

It's like being a Yankee fan, you can throw as much dirt as you want but having 27 titles speaks for itself so you don't really care what people think of the team. You got it?

To be completely honest, I don't really care. Majority of the New Yorkers aren't overreactors, but I can name one or two in specific who are. They're on this thread, and I meant them. Not you.

Plus I'm a Cubs fan, so it's whatever lol. But yes, the Yankee's don't have to prove themselves when they have an off game, they've already built up their rep.

Didn't we go over there NOT being a capital of the world anymore? Power and influence is decentralized enough (even within the US itself) that there is no unofficial capital to speak of.

In the distant future when the earth is ruled by a one-world government, they would be based on the moon, ruling the earth from the skies. Let's be real here folks.
