I have never understood the infactuation with the L.A. skyline. Beyond the mountain backdrop (which you only get on a clear day looking ONE direction with a telephoto lens) the architecture itself is BORING -- nothing but big boxy buildings and that UGLY ROUND Bank of America tower. Atlanta's skyline is breathtaking and sexy from SO many different perspectives. Just driving through the city is such an orgasm.
you know i cant get it out of my head how i cant like la's skyline it just angers me when i look at it its just like a bruise in the middle of a beautiful valley, its like god punched socal in the face. It was supposed to be beautiful but it failed darn you guys tried. oh well at least you have the mountains to help you guys out.

It's not an infactuation, and it's not even the mountain backdrop. I just like dt L.A.s individual buildings more. US Bank, 7th and Fig, Gas Tower, California Plaza, Ritz Carlton. Plus they're all clustered in dt L.A. I do like Atlanta's Symphony Tower and 4Seasons but Atlanta's tallest is just plain ugly imo. I never liked the color or the shape or its location. And the buildings are spread way too far apart. Downtown and Midtown appear to be one skyline when in fact they are separate which again gives it that sparse look.
^^aside from the formatting/grammar of your response, I agree. How many people would say that La Defense is the most interesting/enjoyable/exciting/culturally interesting/etc. part of Paris? None. It's just a giant office park of skyscrapers. Same with Canary wharf in London.
Formatting is O.K. grammar is below aveage , but a lot of great American had problem with grammar and it didn't take away from what they had to say...good to know that you agreed with what I had to """say"""..........
Chicago has the most scenic downtown while New York has the most mind blowing. Los Angeles
probably has the most majestic especially with the mountains in the background. When i was
in LA i could see the mountains most of the time. Atlanta has a beautiful skyline, but LA wins.
LA has scenic mountains and tall palms trees to give it a background that few American cities
have. Atlanta skyline could be any city from Indianapolis to Minneapolis.

If you picked just one of Atlanta's skylines that may be some what true but Atlanta has several large skylines. Downtown, Midtown, Buckhead, Perimeter Center-Dunwoody, Cobb Galleria. Driving around town you can see all these different skylines from different vantage points. There's no way Indianapolis or Minneapolis/St. Paul can be compared to that.

The Atlanta skyline, by far. The L.A. skyline is smaller than the Atlanta skyline, despite L.A. having three times more people (L.A. 17 million, Atlanta 5.5 million).
