Same with rock, does that mean all rock bands are on corporate tours?

You can keep cherry picking bands (and breaking down meaningless sub genres) that aren't mainstream but that doesn't take away from the fact that those sub cultures are featured in the mainstream corporate world.
Show me one neo-classical/heavenly voices/ethereal goth band that is in the mainstream, and I will mail you a check for 10,000 dollars.

You seem to keep missing the point of the posts. For the most part, counter cultures are dead. You can name off a handful of obscure counter cultures but they keep getting lesser and lesser.

How the heck is a counter culture not going to be "obscure" Just because you're not into them doesn't mean they don't exist.

to the OP, trust me your post in not the 1st to say such things about the former great new york city. it's more of a corporate led tourist trap than anything these days. The real new york city dies in the early to mid 90's. it peaked in the 80's.

There were corporations, but only a handful of MNC's in the U.S. Since around the mid 80's, MNC profits as well as the number of MNC's has exploded exponentially due to easier entry into foreign markets, country to country border mergers and foreign acquisitions from predatory economics.

This is different from the corporate scene prior to it.

Incorporation wasn't meant to be exploitation, exportation and homogenization.

And I can guarantee that you have your head up your behind. For one, look at the cars in the pics. These pics are from 2007. You're just out of the loop, that happens when you start to get old and uncool.

See?

I'm happy to see someone agrees with the obvious.

See?

The cars in that pic have Jersey plates...probably some old hippie from Princeton.

Like I said, there is no "loop" to be out of.
