Yeah, how much are the San Antoinio Spurs worth--$400 million? Oh wait, it doesn't matter because they have 4 championships since 1999...
All that big market money and the Knicks have still basically been basically an embarrassment for over the last decade. Though I'll give them props for scoring Jeremy Lin--Golden State should've never released that guy...
I am honestly shocked that this is so close. MSG is one of the ugliest buildings in NYC. Destroying old Penn Station was an absolute sin. Now they have a train station buried under a heinous cold war colosseum. In my opinion, NYC has far greater architecture than LA, but how can anyone defend MSG? Yes, it's in an unbeatable location, but that only makes it sadder than something better isn't there. Yes, it has a storied history but so did the far-more-beautiful Yankee Stadium which was torn down. Hopefully they will soon do the same to MSG.
Since you have already seen pictures of the stadiums in question, let me just draw attention to what was mercilessly destroyed to put up that ugly tin can so many people think is so great:
EDIT: I just saw that several people have already brought up Old Penn Station and posted pictures. I am going to keep these up if that's okay though. The point cannot be understated. Madison Square Garden is a monstrosity sitting on the grave of a beauty.

Thank God! I don't love the rendering but there is no way it will be uglier than MSG.
They have to vacate soon even after dropping a billion on it in renovations?
Damn, that sucks.
