Los Angeles, hands down.

Keep in mind that California was the first state int he 20th century to repeal miscegenation laws, too.

Anywhere outside the West is rough for interracial relationships.

I live in the Los Angeles metro area & see inter-racial couples everywhere. In-fact among Latinos there is a huge number of Anglo\ Latino marriages. This is also true between blacks and anglos [it isn't an issue & it is common]. I've been to NYC several times [including the burroughs of Brooklyn, the Bronx & Queens]. The mixture among races also seems to be a non-issue and as common as it is in California.

I chose LA because it is more racially\ethnically diverse than New York.

I think LA would probably be more tolerant. I will give NYC the edge in being more diverse, but it is segmented diversity with most ethnicities staying closer to each other. I see LA as more of a blending in communities. Plus, I don't think LA really gives a hoot about stuff like that. But that is just my guess.

I grew up in Manhattan in the 50s. It was not uncommon, even back then, to see interracial couples hand in hand on the streets. Actually, I saw a lot of GAY couples back then hand in hand on the streets.

Now if you are talking about the outter boroughs, that may be a different story.

Studies\ census reports indicate that Los Angeles county is home to more nationalities than any other region in the nation. When shopping at Costco, I only hear English at the cash register since Koren, Russian, Armenian & Spanish are far more common place. I am not exaggerating either!

I don't know what you mean by people gawking at you in NYC because of who you are dating i was walki9ng around with some of my friends in NYC and some of them were wearing costumes (not during Halloween) no one seemed to even have time to notice other than some tourists. I know it doesn't seem like im on topic but if people dont care what you wear i dont think they will care who you date.
