I'd agree that some areas on the west coast can be progressive, but the flakiness and instability take away from that.

Hey, Living in LA is great! It's like living in a bowl of granola--we're surrounded by fruits, nuts, and flakes...It is quite eclectic, and very fun!

California is backwards, considering that their state budget is extremely in the red, and considering that they fail to stop providing services to illegal aliens.

Massachusetts is backwards, considering that they allow their ideology to allow them to continuously elect a homosexual who having allegations of have sex with male subordinates, not to mention they continue to elect an individual who killed, intentional or not, an individual over thirty years ago.

Tennessee has NO state income tax, and thus takes much of the burden off its residents. That's very progressive.

North Dakota is one of fiscal responsibility, and it is one of the few states that has a budget surplus.

LOL all you want.

The budget is a real problem for the morons in the state capital. You are right on that one.

As to the illegal aliens--we tried to stop giving them services but the state was sued by the federal government. The state lost the lawsuit.

I agree with everything that you are saying in this post, but we are not judging progressive/backwards only on politics.

We are judging progressive/backwards on anything that a person would observe when moving/visiting these states

The state "lost" the lawsuit because of corrupt judges, courtesy of the ninth circuit court, a judicial activist, anti-Constitutional, un-American court, home to left-wing ideologues.
