Under the assumption that both are considered Major U.S. cities, which kind do you prefer? The Portlands and Minneapolis' of the U.S. or the Chicagos,LAs', and New Yorks of the U.S.?

Indeed. Hence the "+" symbol after "3,000,000."

I agree, smaller metros just do not offer all the amenities and culture that larger metros provide.

I just like living in a city of at least 300,000 or more. Right now I live in a city with 376,000 and the metro area has about 610,000 people, and I only live 60 miles south of Denver which is a city of 580,000 and the metro has 2,500,000 people probably more now. Im in my late teens so right now I can't go and enjoy nightlife so a city of that size is fine for me. In a couple years when Im over 21 I'd definetly like to live in a place like LA, Chicago, NYC, San Francisco, Miami, just someplace where the nightlife is good.

At least less than 10,000; preferably less than 5,000. I'm not taking about suburbs of big cities either, I'm taking true country small towns.
