I'd probably have to say RI as a whole, because it would depend on what part of NC. If you mean Charlotte, then RI definitely. If you mean Greensboro, maybe NC.

You should probably specify what part of NC you mean, since RI is a fraction of the size of just greater Charlotte.

Preferably the Coastal region.

Firstly, the South is not a monolithic region. Secondly, Rhode Island has no inherent virtue in being Northern.

I love Charlotte - the city is new, up and coming, but I need my Italian deli's, pizza with extra sauce and burnt crust, access to major cities (I just can't sit still in one area!) and, of course, most importantly, the beach. It's nothing against the city (actually there was a ton of traffic last time I was there!) but I just prefer that small town, village charm with nice beaches nearby.

That's why I said it depends on what part of NC.

The way you phrased your answer, it seemed as though you prefer Greensboro over Charlotte. Which is fine, but I just wanted to get your thought process behind it.

I'm not sure why. I have always thought Greensboro has a more European feel to it. Even though it's smaller than Charlotte, I also think Greenboro feels larger and more cosmopolitan.

So to be honest, I really don't know why I prefer Greensboro. I also like Asheville - kinda quirky, which makes it unique.
