Interesting with what?

In terms of climate (from arid in Phoenix to Mediterranean in San Diego, from oceanic in Seattle to tropical in Hawaii, from subarctic and Arctic in Alaska to 4 season climates in the mountains) scenery and topography, the West is more interesting.

In terms of history, the East Coast cities are older, so they win.

Other than the terrain. The west coast has nothing interesting about it IMO.

So the second-biggest city in the country (LA) is boring? Or SF? Seattle?

You have probably never even been.

This....this is stupid.

There are interesting places to see and people to meet all over the country.

People with very strong opinions on this are just bored homebodies who can't think outside of themselves enough to realize that what they find interesting may not hold true for others and vice versa.

"Well...the west is more free spirited" ...."well....the east is more educated and has more history"..

Just remember...both of these arguments are being made by people sitting at their computer arguing with strangers over the internet.

The East has more variety in accents but the West has more variety in slang.

I find people from the West to be more interesting because they tend to be less conventional and conformist than people from the East. Art, music, etc seem to be more highly valued out West, while in the East sports teams are more highly valued.

And just to clarify, I'm not talking about museums, etc - I'm talking about the culture. I find that in West Coast cities people tend to care more about music, art, intellectual matters, etc, while on the East Coast people are more focused on sports, careers, finance, etc.
