So you should understand my point about speed not being a sole determinant in highway safety, right? Speed does not kill, it's stupidty that does. German Autobahn proves it.
Going back to aggressive driviing, there is no other driving in New York.
Pavement real estate is scarce and aggresiveness, I call it proactive driving, is a must. It does not mean that NY streets are more dangerous.
I'd simply take agressive, but focused drivers over passive but unfocused, distracted drivers, any time of the day.
Thank you for this post, this is what I was stating in my earlier post.
I would have thought FL would be lower. I definetly agree with NY and NJ. Most NJ drivers I see do some stupid stuff. And NYers always seem to be speeding and weaving though traffic.
I know what you're saying in regards to how people can drive fast and better. I agree it's possible, but I just haven't seen it in all the places I've been. It just takes one dope, as we all know...
Everyone be safe!
Absolutely. It does only take one. I was once rear-ended at a stop sign by a special needs van. How that man had a license to transport others commercially, I'll never know.
Anyway, we'd all be better off if everyone was better aware of their own abilities behind the wheel (which as you've mentioned, many people aren't) and were more aware of their surroundings (i.e. alert). Though as you said, it only takes one idiot (or one capable driver having a temporary lapse).
Idaho is the best... because all they have to watch out for is potatoes in the road.
NY and NJ are not the worst.. maybe the worst by speed and swerviness, but you'd be surprised how often you see these drivers and rarely see a crash. Florida has some crazy drivers all around crashing and exploding left and right.

NY drivers speed through traffic but they remain in control is not like the other states that they break for no reason or change lanes without signaling.

NY drivers display a lot of common sense... That's what driving in the city teaches you day by day.

I know...when I'm in Florida, I see accidents all the time. My parents also tell me about freak accidents that happen down there all the time.
Why are you trying to make EVERYTHING anti-NY and pro-FL? How many cars do you see from New York in Florida, I know it has some vacationers but its mostly retireees.. Maybe every now and then you'll see a normal aged NY driver.. I think that city driving makes you more alert..
