Then I don't know what that other person meant by it's a different Kansas City
I don't know either, maybe he means the Kansas City in Missouri is larger. I believe the nicest area of the Kansas City metro area is in Kansas, it's Overland Park.
I don't know. Probobably one fo those states like Nebraska, Iowa, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming???
Definitely not Mississippi (entire state of casinos & then the beach) or Alabama (gulf shores)

Kansas City that everyone thinks of is the city in the state of Missouri. There is also a Kansas City that is across the river in the state of Kansas.
They are basically like New York and Newark. People do to visit Kansas City, Missouri, but not so much Kansas City, Kansas. The only confusion comes in the fact they happen to share the same name and are right next to each other since they're in different states.

I think Montana and Wyoming get a ton of tourists because of the Rockies...and Yellowstone in Wyoming. Lots of RV's and people driving cross-country.

All of those states you mentioned are around 30-37 in rankings as far as the number of people employed in the tourism industry.
The lowest three states are Rhode Island, Vermont and Delaware. They are also on the bottom as far as expenditures.
Wait...the south draws more tourists than DC, NYC, Philadelphia, Boston combined??? I really doubt that. Please show me where you get your information.
heh - don't underestimate the NE states - between history, urban environment, natural beauty (think coast of maine, niagara falls, etc), casinos, beaches, etc there is a ton of variety
