Well, I've never seen any fruit from Florida in Naples supermarkets. I wouldn't lie about something like that. That would be a really dumb thing to lie about. It's all from PR, DR, NJ, CA.
That is true. It is a really dumb thing to lie about.

Yeah, so I'm not lying...I looked at fruits at first, but then I got curious because I was wondering what other foods were grown in Florida that were being sold at Publix. Nothing.
The one thing all of you are forgetting is that I am in NAPLES. You simply cannot compare this place to others around Florida. Right now, most of the produce in Publix is from Mexico, South America. Now, why is that? Because it is OFF SEASON in Naples. Do you know what that means? There is nobody here to BUY IT. If they did stock all this wonderful fresh produce in the local Publix stores, it would sit in the bins and rot. They are probably shipping the majority of the local product OUT OF THIS AREA.
IN season, the stores are stocked with everything, from all over the country so the snowbirds can get whatever they want from wherever they came. You simply cannot imagine what it is like here then. You literally have to drive around parking lots over and over to find a space. Now I could drive my car up and down aisles of the store for all people who are there shopping.
No way can you compare Naples to these other places in Florida. As far as the flowers having blooming seasons, that is true. Maybe they bloom all here in other parts of Florida, but they sure don't here.
They aren't wrong...lol. I usually go to the store while I'm down there to buy some fruit. Everything I see is from up north or the caribbean. Why would we lie? Have you been to the grocery stores in Naples?
Yes, I've been to the grocery store in Naples, but that's not what we're talking about. We are talking about the STATE of Florida. But it is apparent your parents are applying their own unique experience at their grocery store to the whole state which they haven't been to. And, I have to question your parents' reasonability, considering they moved to a place they loathe.
Naples is overpriced all the way around. If you or your parents don't know that by now then none of you know anything about any part of Florida outside of Naples.
The one thing all of you are forgetting is that I am in NAPLES. You simply cannot compare this place to others around Florida.
Well this thread is about Florida as a state, in general. Your experiences in Naples are not representative of Florida as a whole but you present them as though they are. Naples is overpriced and full of wealthy people's vacation homes, so you won't find cheap anything there.

But they're importing food from New Jersey? In the off season with nobody there to eat it??? Yeah, right.

IN season, there is nothing growing in NJ, so I don't see how the snowbirds can get Jersey produce IN season. That doesn't make a bit of sense.

I've been to Naples several times, during and out of snowbird season, so I know how it is. My friend's sister-in-law lives there. Which gives me a good reminder to give my friend a call since he lives in Palm Beach and I haven't talked to him in a while; I'll call him tonight and ask him about Naples, his wife will know, since she drives out there once every couple of weeks to visit her sister. She'll be able to tell me all about the produce situation.

They do bloom year-round there; there are always some species of flowers in bloom there, as in the rest of Florida. And yes, you can compare Naples to other parts of Florida in a lot of ways.
Quit instigating nonsense. Why argue with someone if they agree with someone?
Because neither one of you have a clue as to what you are talking about, that's why.
Both of you have an absolute blind hatred of Florida, and it shows.
As far as instigating nonsense goes, I could NEVER replace you in that position. You are the forum Queen of that particular category.
