That is absolutely true except for the "NJ can't compete at all" part.

We obviously have a winter here when going to the beach isn't the balmy experience it is in warmer months. But in summertime we surpass California's beaches. Our beaches and water are cleaner and our water is warmer at that time. Swimming is commonplace with no wetsuits in sight.

But yes, year round, Southern California has the best weather.

This is in one state, not 4 different ones.
I absolutely love that stretch, also, but to the point of the OP, that stretch isn't very diverse and it lacks an "Atlantic City" comparison. The Seminole Hard Rock and that other Seminole casino don't cut it - if they were more full-featured and offered table games it would be a different story.

But that part of Florida is my favorite part, with the Tampa Bay area being my second favorite.

The OP did not ask for diversity and while it may look homogenous there is plenty of diversity between these cities. Miami Beach some years ago voted against casino gambling which I believe was a smart thing, however what they have done to South Beach and the looks of that area along with Sunny Isles and Bal Harbour outweigh what Atlantic City and Hampton Roads put together.

I mean think about it the Pro Bowl and the Super Bowl are taking place in South Florida not the northeast.

I wasn't talking about ethnic or racial diversity. I was talking about geographical diversity. From Long Island or the Jersey Shore you can quickly and easily get to fields farmland and forests and swamps/marshes as well as cities and suburbs. You can also find mountains. South Florida lacks that kind of geographical diversity. You have beaches, swamps/marshes and open spaces used for farming or ranching, not much in the way of forests (you'd have to go far, up to the Orlando area for the nearest forests) and no mountains. It lacks seasons, it lacks skiing and winter sports, it lacks autumn foliage, and it is susceptible to much more severe weather than the northeast. The worst blizzards in the NY/NJ/PA area have never been as bad as some of the bad hurricanes to hit Florida.

It's due to the warm weather, obviously. Same reason Phoenix and Hawaii also host the Pro Bowl and Super Bowl. Of course, NY hosted two Winter Olympics, so I could say "I mean think about it the Winter Olympics took place twice in the northeast not in South Florida", but that wouldn't be a fair or rational comparison.

Bergen where is there one word about diversity in this whole post from the OP,it ask about a metro area that can compete with this and I stated South Florida metro, which I think is very impressive it is one big contiguous line of big cities from Palm Beach to Miami Beach which is around 100 miles or more.

I am not from this area so it definitely not a bias on my part.
