It shouldn't though. We are among the top cities in the country when it comes to LEED certified buildings. We are also among the National leaders in redeveloping industrial brownfields.

How many cities are you aware of that tore down a steel mill to constuct an entirely new district adjacent to their core?

The link you posted simply does not justify that statement.
Fair enough, I can see your point, but that does not make the statement incorrect.

CTA: Ridership: 1.7million (daily) Chicago Transit Authority - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

MBTA: Ridership 1.3milllion (daily) Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Metropolitan area population:

Chicago: 9,569,624
Boston: 4,522,858

Per Capita Ridership Daily:

Chicago: 0.17
Boston: 0.29

Is that sufficient?

It will be sufficient once you include pace and metra ridership as well.

Well, according to the list we're ranked 8th Nationally. About right for the size of our metro, wouldn't you say?

Considering the limited coverage of our rail system vs the size of the metro, I consider 8th to be pretty respectable.

Not chuckle worthy at all.

Can you show me who ranked you 8th? Just curious.

As that goes, I dont think it has anything to do with the size of the metro in determining how green a city is.

Example: LA is the 2nd biggest in the nation but I doubt anybody sees LA as being the 2nd greenest city in the country.

From the list the O.P. offered at the start of the thread.

If this is for City Limits only, I am even more impressed with the ranking of #8. It shows our initiatives are paying off.
