Albuquerque was rated #1 by Forbes magazine for the "Best cities for businesses and careers" in 2006.
We are currently #11, but Albuquerque's economy is one of the best in the nation.
We have a very low unemployment rate thats forsure, as well as the lowest in foreclosures.
Yeah, it's a nice place to start up a business. And you'll likely find demand from any corner you're looking at due to the demographics of the area.
The downside is that due to the high earner potential in the area property values are wayyy out of whack, and Seattle got hit late in the housing bubble, so likely it will be a while.

And thats not the Case with Albuquerque, a city almost the same size. I guess our growth was just more controled.. What are the stats for best places for business in 2009?
I actually see more local businesses in the bigger cities much more so than i see in small cities (over run by chains and walmarts)
You know why? Bigger cities = more people = more local businesses, that doesn't mean they are the best places for a business. Cities like Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, and Phoenix might have the upper hand cuz of cheaper expenses and booming populations.
