Albuquerque was rated #1 by Forbes magazine for the "Best cities for businesses and careers" in 2006.

We are currently #11, but Albuquerque's economy is one of the best in the nation.
We have a very low unemployment rate thats forsure, as well as the lowest in foreclosures.

According to CNNMoney.com, Bellevue, WA is the #1 place to do business in 2008. 100 best places to live and launch - 1. Bellevue, Wash. (1) - FORTUNE Small Business

Yeah, it's a nice place to start up a business. And you'll likely find demand from any corner you're looking at due to the demographics of the area.

The downside is that due to the high earner potential in the area property values are wayyy out of whack, and Seattle got hit late in the housing bubble, so likely it will be a while.

You know why? Bigger cities = more people = more local businesses, that doesn't mean they are the best places for a business. Cities like Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, and Phoenix might have the upper hand cuz of cheaper expenses and booming populations.

I'd say where ever the tax rate is lowest...assuming that what you're offering is in demand there.

I would say Dallas and Houston have to top the list. No state tax, everything is cheap, and both cities are super business friendly.
