Straight up, which do you prefer? Which would you rather have a free trip to? Why?

I've been to Toronto many times. A nice, cleaner version of a mini-NYC, but Montreal apparently has the old world charm that Toronto lacks. I have an international hub 30 miles to the east at my whim, so I'd rather go to a historical town (Boston, Montreal, etc) when making a longer road trip.

I wouldn't say either are in "Eastern Canada", but that's just because I go to school in eaaaaaastern Canada. They are both in Central Canada.

I have to say Montreal because I have never been to Toronto but hopefully I will get out there later this summer.

Montreal for the eccentricity and eclecticism, for being Francophone, and for being dramatically cheaper than Toronto.

I absolutely love Montreal. I have been to both on a few occasions and quite honestly, the traffic in Toronto just scared me to no end. I made it a point to go back through late at night to avoid the horrible traffic, and it was still bad! But other then that, both gave a favorable impression on me, however Montreal really made you feel like you really were in a foreign country and I loved that feeling. Toronto was just a big city, in my opinion the view in Montreal was just breathtaking!

Toronto is a great city, no doubt.

But Montreal is magical. My vote is for Montreal.

Shouldn't this go in Canada or City vs City?
