I-90 is the longest highway in the United States. It crosses a number of large metros, all very different, but also somehow linked through this road. How would you rank the major cities along the I-90 corridor along the following factors:

-Culture
-Public Transportation
-Food
-Uniqueness
-Scenery/natural beauty
-Economic opportunity

The cities are:
-Boston
-Buffalo
-Cleveland
-Chicago
-Madison
-Spokane
-Seattle

I don't have much experience with the I-90 cities, so I really can't rank them. What I can do, though, is provide you all a nifty little chart illustrating how many metropolitan areas of at least 1,000,000 population each (two-digit) Interstate passes through:

11 - I-95 (Miami, Jacksonville, Raleigh, Richmond, Washington DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York, Hartford, Providence, Boston)

8 - I-70 (Denver, Kansas City, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Columbus, Pittsburgh, Washington DC, Baltimore)

7 - I-10 (Los Angeles, Riverside/San Bernardino, Phoenix, San Antonio, Houston, New Orleans, Jacksonville)

6 - I-35 (San Antonio, Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, Oklahoma City, Kansas City, Minneapolis/St. Paul)
6 - I-80 (San Francisco, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, Chicago, Cleveland, New York)
6 - I-90 (Seattle, Chicago, Cleveland, Buffalo, Rochester, Boston)

Well I've lived in both anchor cities of Boston and Seattle at each end of it, in the two cross country drives I've made I haven't done the complete span I-90. I've done Seattle - Missoula, MT and Boston - Chicago. It's heavily tolled from Boston to Chicago and fairly steep on the NY Thruway. The stretch from Spokane WA through Northern Idaho and into Western Montana is very scenic and mountainous.

Western Mass and the Berkshire Hills is very pretty, parts of NY state has it's scenic moments, you can see the Lake Erie shoreline in PA/Erie area, after Cleveland the scenery gets fairly dull and flat all the way to Chicago. One of my most memorable stops on the this interstates was in Cleveland at the West Side Market. Great place to pick up some road food and fruit/produce for a long drive ahead.

3 hours into my drive out west I stopped in Albany, NY for breakfast, and heading out snapped this pic....

Cool idea for a thread. I'd put them as:

Chicago
Seattle
Boston
Madison
Cleveland
Buffalo
Spokane

Sorry Spokane, but that's some tough competition.

What about other areas like Springfield, Albany, Syracuse, Rochester and Toledo? I only ask, because those areas are as big or bigger than Spokane and Madison.

There is some serious homerism in this thread... Anyone care to make an argument for their ranking?
