St. Louis and New Orleans are two of America's finest examples of a true river city. They both abound with history, culture, great food, and architecture. Fellow forummers, although difficult to dispute which city is best, please tell us whether you like St. Louis, Missouri or New Orleans, Louisiana over its peer and why you feel this way.

St. Louis has a few run down areas here and there, but isn't mostly all of New Orleans pretty run down.

To the average resident nothing is the same, while the average tourist/visitor would never even know Katrina came through.

Been to both but I think NOLA would take it. St Louis is great but for sure culture and potential NOLAis the winner

They're both kind of French cities, both Historic, both have a history of the blues, both built on the river.

I think I would have to go with St. Louis, though, because I love it.

By the way, why is there a hyphen in the title? I've never seen it spelled Saint-Louis, only St. Louis or Saint Louis.

I agree. Went to Mardi Gras in 04 and 08 and could barely tell the difference.
