I have been to Wilmington, NC a couple of times and it has a charming historic downtown, nice beaches, nice aquarium, and is known for its film/TV industry and battleship museum.

Let's continue with International Falls, Minnesota...

Somewhat underrated city that feels very Midwestern and has a surprising number of amenities for a city of its size.

Columbia, MO

The exception to the general rule that Midwestern college towns are cool, funky, and pretty liberal (yes, Lawrence, Kan., does belong in that "pretty liberal" category - Columbia is bigger but has less of that alt-culture feel than Lawrence does).

Columbus, Ohio

Vanilla city with no personality. Unless you consider smothering everything in scarlet and gray 'character'. A sunbelt-style city in the Midwest. Car-centric with lots of sprawl. Also where I was born and lived again as an adult. Where my pops calls home.

Fort Lauderdale

One of my 5 favorite metros in the USA. One of the few places in the US I envisioned myself living as a single young adult, but now with how expensive it is, I'm not sure if it would remain a feasible choice if I chose to relocate with my family.

Ann Arbor, MI
